The show has been seen by over one and a half million people around the world and ended the long tour in spring 2008:
A journey into the universe of Arturo Brachetti, the only quick-change artist in the world that can combine the magic of theater with the Art of Transformism. A thousand faces, a thousand of Arturo childhood dreams: 80 characters in 100 minutes, Brachetti costume changes with incredible speed, creating an “army of” personalities from different characters. A multimedia extravaganza that combines humour, poetry, music, magic and video into a single narrative collage, visual surprises and cartoons where the surreal becomes reality. The story is simple, but touching. Arturo, adult, goes back in the attic of his childhood to empty everything and get rid of unnecessary memories. The discovery of the toy box causes a surprising change: he returns to the world of fantasy that was believed to have forgotten. Become Spiderman, Pinocchio, various puppets and even Barbie.

Change, English adaptation of the show “Man of a 1000 faces”, was performed at the Garrick Theatre in London from 19 October 2009 to 3 January 2010 It was nominated in the category “Best Entertainment” for the 2010 Laurence Olivier Awards, the most prestigious London theater award.
Arturo Brachetti is the only Italian artist to have been well received 2 nominations (the first in 1983 with “Y” in the category “Best New Comedy”) to one that is internationally regarded as the highest honor of the English theater.

Arturo relives his love for the seventh art

After several years of absence as solo-artist of his show, Brachetti returns as protagonist in a one-man show that encloses, as in “Man of a 1000 faces” the best of his repertoire.

“Ciak si gira!” (action!) is the magic phrase that evokes the moment when the craftsman of the film creates the dream and is the title by whichBrachetti takes us on an amazing journey into the cinema.

In a series of numbers, theatrical and evocative moments, in a new scenic setting, Arturo relives his love for the seventh art. The show begins with a huge TV where Arturo turns in the characters that populated the afternoon movies, the ones that we all have seen and loved since childhood: Zorro, Mary Poppins, Maciste, Cruella De Vil, cowboys, pirates and adventurers. Arturo then recalls being, still a teenager, the Museum of Cinema in Turin, his city and to have particularly remembered the Horror section. He creates then a fun frenzy of meetings, where the priest of “The exorcist” comes face to face with Nosferatu, served by undertaker on duty. The monster of Halloween, after having chopped the possessed girl, loses his head and literally finds it between his own knees. As in any self-respecting horror, the paintings speak, ghosts disappear and tables fly.

Arturo tells the story of the characters that influenced him a lot in his very first cinema experiences, from Baby Jane to musicals … then there is the story of Lon Chaney, also called “the man of a 1000 faces”, which was the pioneer of facial make-up for create characters now become icons of cinema. Arturo revives through quick costume changes and make-up all the characters made famous by the actor such as the Phantom of the Opera, Quasimodo, Fu-Manchu, scary clowns and melancholic Pierrots.

In another more intimate moment Arturo revives the oldest cartoons in the world as Chinese shadows, or the grandfather’s hat with which he transformed from a small, in dozens of characters, or even the number of fantasy: “everything out of nothing“.

The evocation of the world of Fellini closes the first part of the show, as a maximum combination of scenic invention and dreamlike evocation. The play had already one of the most touching moments and visually inventive of the previous show Brachetti.

The second part of the show is almost entirely dedicated to the great Hollywood films with a parade of characters that rivals a film library: Charlie Chaplin, Gene Kelly, King Kong, Shreck, Liza Minneli, Gollum, Harry Potter, Carmen Miranda, E. T. Judy Garland, Jack Sparrow, Snow White, Darth Vader, and many, many more, creating a hilarious and surprising film zapping. Arturo does magic, disappears, flies…

After more than sixty transformations and magical surprises, the show ends with a poetic and spectacular evocation, a thank you to all the objects and more mundane actions that have become memorable thanks to their use in film … from Méliès’ moon, Tarzan’s howl and ET’s bike.

The Italian tournée will be stopped in December and January to give space to the french adaptation “Brachetti fait son cinema” in the “Teatro Folies Bergère” in Paris, where Arturo is awaited with much anticipation. The international tournée will ends in the summer of 2012 in Canada, with three months replicas

Music that is “transformed” in the theater and becomes fable. hanks to an exceptional interpreter, Arturo Brachetti. He will tell with his magic Prokofiev’s Peter and the Wolf in the two concerts of the Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai season in program on Thursday 15 April and Friday 16 at 20.30 to 21.00, at the RAI Auditorium “Arturo Toscanini” of Turin. The evening of Thursday 15, in particular, will be broadcast live on Radio 3, streamed live to the site www.orchestrasinfonica.rai.it and will rebound – and then transmitted – by Raitre. For Brachetti – who takes the place of the great Paolo Poli, prevented by other commitments – it is the debut with the RAI Orchestra, directed for the occasion by Wayne Marshall, in a concert that Brachetti announces full of surprises: “Peter the Wolf – he says – was written by Prokofiev in a period in which children, not seeing the cartoons, did not have any sound or soundtrack that they could accompany the fantasies of a fairytale. Peter and the Wolf is a story written to discover music, a children’s story written a hundred years ago, but now it is for adults. My intent will be to take the adults who come to concerts and make them children again through fantasy”.

Arturo Brachetti in Naples brings his friends, amazing performers specifically gathered for this occasion.

This is the first appointment of a project that will take shape in the coming years and that will develop in the next theater season with Magiko !, show born from the sparkling fantasy of Arturo.
Brachetti wanted to experience in Naples the first steps of the new lab, for the great theatrical tradition that this city has.

An evening with the memories and imagination that Arturo shares with his audience, starting from the beginning and the first magic numbers up to meetings with some of the most talented artists known in his long national and international career. Some of them are with him on the stage:
The Lucchettino (Luca Regina and Tino Fimiani), hilarious and improbable comic magicians who can not resist;
Luca Bono, young talent illusionism with the impossible in the hands;
Mister David, breathtaking juggling capable of balancing extremes and enthralling performances by escapology;

After the incredible success of“L’Uomo dai Mille Volti” and ofCiak si gira”, and the triumph of the recent tour of Canada and FranceComedy Majik Cho”, the “Italy’s most famous tuft” goes back to his birthplace, Italy, with a new extraordinary and unpredictable show:Brachetti che sorpresa!”

Arturo is located in a place full of suitcases, boxes and trunks from around the world. A limbo both mysterious and fascinating, full of objects and stories collected on long trips and curious characters who stumbled there, somehow. Will Arturo find his lost red suitcase? To do so, like in a big videogame, he will face challenges and levels … just like life, right?

Brachetti, he biggest change artist in the world, does not disappoint his audience and offers a “best of” of his quick changekills, an art he reinvented himself that made him famous and acclaimed everywhere in the planet: in the blink of an eye (maybe two) he is transformed before the eyes of the audience from hat to shoes. A kaleidoscope of characters made with great costumes or with only a few items to remind us that “with little you can do everything, just let yourself go to the imagination.”
Brachetti is a 360° artist, able to switch from transformation with other performances that will leave people in awe: the charm of shadow puppetry, the thrill of sand painting and much more.

Fellow adventurers its eclectic and unusual friends: Luca Bono“blue eyes of the magic”, a young international talent of illusionism; Luca&Tinohilarious, dazed and improbable artists, defined by the prestigious French daily Le Figaro the “Italian Laurel and Hardy”; Francesco Scimemias ingenious and unpredictable as he has ever been and Kevin Michael Moorean alter ego of the protagonist.

There are two brand new acts: the laser, handled and shaped during the narration; and the stage is designed live with the innovative technique called video mapping, used for the first time in Italy in a variety show.

After the 2014 edition, directed by Davide Livermore, Brachetti che sorpresa 2015 is realized under the directed by Davide Calabrese and the artistic advice of Leo Ortolani.
The underlying theme is the illusionism, which Arturo interprets in a contemporary way: an amazing journey into fantasy in which the great artist, as a guide, will lead the audience by the hand.

“Brachetti che sorpresa!” was applauded in Italy from 38,000 spectators in the 2013/14 season.

A group of tourists visits a long-ago abandoned theater that it going to be torn down to make way for a supermarket very soon. But a ghost traps them inside asking in exchange for freedom a show that meets the “theater of desire” Ghost.
Brachetti, the guide of the group, pushing tourists to prove himself, with surprising results …

This meeting was born like this, from the spontaneus questions gathered together and transformed into an unique narrative thread, in which Arturo himself recounts the character Brachetti, in a special evening filled with confidences, memories, and fantastic journeys.”
